Job Description
Founding Full Stack Engineer (Applied AI)
📍 California (Remote - SF Bay Area Preferred)
💰 $160K - $250K Base + Competitive Equity
🛂 Visa Sponsorship Not Available (Open to TN Visas)
I'm partnering with a high-growth AI company that's building one of the most exciting AI-powered customer lifecycle management platforms in the enterprise software space.
Their AI agents don't just answer questions. They rebuild customer operations from the ground up, orchestrating the perfect blend of digital and human touchpoints to enable high-touch service at scale. Following a $4M seed round from Acrew Capital and Emerson Collective, with angels from LinkedIn, BetterUp, Glean, Scale AI, and Gusto, they're expanding their engineering team and hiring a Founding Full Stack Engineer to help shape their product and culture from the ground up.
This is a founding-team seat. You'll work directly with enterprise customers, own product and infrastructure areas end-to-end, and have a significant influence on the product roadmap and company strategy.
What You'll Do
You'll take ownership of core platform capabilities that power AI-powered customer lifecycle management, working directly with the CTO and co-founders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining backend services and APIs (Python, FastAPI) and frontend experiences (React) across the full stack.
- Working directly with enterprise customers to understand use cases and co-build custom AI agents and workflows.
- Owning product and infrastructure areas end-to-end, from problem identification to shipping, including architectural decisions.
- Collaborating closely with the co-founders and having a significant influence on the product roadmap and company strategy.
- Operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, taking ownership of outcomes from problem identification to shipping features.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a generalist engineer who can work across the full stack, interface with customers, and help shape our product and culture from the ground up.
You'll ideally have:
- 5-7 years of experience in full-stack software engineering.
- Experience at an early-stage, VC-backed (Seed to Series B) startup.
- Experience at a large, well-known tech company (e.g., Google, Meta, etc.) in addition to startup experience.
- Strong backend development experience with Python and FastAPI.
- Experience with React or equivalent modern frontend framework.
- Experience or strong interest in applied AI.
- Strong communication skills - can interface directly with enterprise customers and translate requirements into features.
- A demonstrated promotion history in at least one previous role.
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
- California-based strongly preferred (SF Bay Area ideal).
What We're Not Looking For
- Multiple short stints (<1 year) at different companies.
- Specialized experience only in ML, data science, or DevOps.
- Long tenure (5+ years) at a single big tech company with no career progression.
- Heavily UI/UX-focused backgrounds without strong backend capability.
- No LinkedIn profile picture.
Why Join?
This is a chance to join a business tackling the right problem at the right moment. Most AI investment has gone to support chatbots and pre-sales prospecting. Cora is tackling the messy middle - long-running AI agents for post-sales lifecycle management (onboarding, QBRs, renewals, churn).
You'll work with a 3rd-time founder who scaled eng orgs to 100+ engineers. Backed by Acrew Capital and Emerson Collective with angels from LinkedIn, BetterUp, Glean, Scale AI, and Gusto. Real traction with customers including BetterUp, Fountain, Dialpad, Coursera, and more.
You'll have high-level ownership, own large chunks of product and infra, make real architectural decisions, and shape engineering culture. Weekly feedback loops, fast promotions, and deep exposure to cutting-edge applied AI - voice agents, memory systems, knowledge graphs, agentic workflows.
If you're passionate about full-stack engineering, applied AI, and building enterprise products at a founding-stage company, feel free to apply.
